Transforming Through Life’s Deepest Challenges

“The greatest and most important problems of life are fundamentally insoluble. …They can never be solved, but only outgrown.”

~ C. G. Jung

When life brings you to your knees, it can feel like punishment, or the end of yourself. But what if it’s not? What if it’s an initiation? A call to grow, to shed old skin, to become more fully yourself…

HOW I CAME TO THIS WORK ——————

Hello there, I’m Christelle.

I grew up in South Africa, a country I love so much, during the height of apartheid. You can imagine the stark divisions of who belonged, and who didn’t. It left me with a lasting question: what happens to the parts of us, and the people among us, that get pushed to the edges?

MY APPROACH ——————

Less about fixing.
More about attending.

Psychology means the study of the soul, or psyche. Yours is made of what you know about yourself and what you don't, and it asks to be heard.

The invitation usually arrives as a crisis, a suffering, or even a love so great all the previous paradigms are undone. It's hard to ignore. It asks for courage, and for a willingness to meet the whole of yourself, both what you're proud of and what you'd rather not name. This is the work of becoming more whole.

We'll walk the mysterious woods of your psyche together, and we'll listen to what you've carried, respecting it as wisdom rather than pathology. You'll write a new story, one that honors the you you're becoming.

THE RESEARCH ——————

We have been “othering” since the beginning of time.

A word often used to describe this “othering” is scapegoating, and as humans we’ve been doing this from the beginning. Anthropologists have found evidence of scapegoating rituals around the world, and in the Judeo-Christian era such a ritual is even recorded in Leviticus 13.

I’m curious about the parts of ourselves that we exile in service of belonging. I’m also curious how this plays out in societies, families, theologies, places of work, and the psychological structures we pass on to generations before they can refuse them.

YOU’RE WELCOME HERE ——————

When you’re ready, I’d love to hear from you.

I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation for those interested in therapy. It’s a first conversation to see if we’re a good fit. I’m interested in what you’re noticing in your life, and welcome questions about myself and the therapeutic process.
